Pooka's Ad

|
| Pooka (Pluto Carrma III) is a purebred Lipizzan stallion bred at Judith Tarr's Dancing Horse Farm and this is a magazine ad for his stallion services.
The images were manipulated using Photoshop 7 and saved as 600dpi TIFFs. The ad was laid out using Pagemaker 6.52. A PDF file was generated and then opened in Photoshop, converting to greyscale on opening and saved as a 600dpi TIFF image. Both the PDF and TIFF files were sent to the magazine. The fonts used are Bitstream Cantaneo Light BT (24pt) for his name, ITC Officina Serif (book italic 9pt) for the descriptive text and various weights and sizes of Adobe Tekton MM for all other text. | Below, is the original image used in the upper portion of the ad. It needed to be greyscaled and have the busy background knocked out. |

| Here is the final print image. After knocking out the background using Corel Knockout, I used Photoshop 7 Channel Mixer with the following settings: monochrome option, Red: 0, Green: +10, Blue: +90, Constant: +6 to greyscale the image. It was saved as a 600dpi TIFF. |

Below is the original image used in the lower portion of the ad. It needed to be cropped, greyscaled and it also needed not only the background knocked out but the distracting lunge whip needed to be removed. |

| Here is the final print image. After removing the lunge whip using Photoshop 7 clone tool, the background was knocked out using using Corel Knockout. I used Photoshop Channel Mixer with the following settings: monochrome option, Red: +90, Green: +12, Blue: +8, Constant: +2 to greyscale the image. It was saved as a 600dpi TIFF. |
